Subject: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: GUEST,bernieandred Date: 18 Nov 09 - 02:21 AM Saw in a music store the Kazooka electric kazoo. Anybody have any experience of them? Another make which I saw reviewed on Amazon, was slammed by the reviewer as having a pathetic pick up. Just wanted to know if the Kazooka is any good. |

Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Jack Campin Date: 18 Nov 09 - 07:37 AM A pickup *is* a microphone, in a different package. I'd have thought a lapel mike taped onto the end of the kazoo and pointing towards the membrane would work. A similar setup works fine on a clarinet. |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 18 Nov 09 - 07:39 AM I can empty a room quite successfully with just an "acoustic" one. If amplified I could empty whole towns! RtS |

Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: goatfell Date: 18 Nov 09 - 08:56 AM I remember seeing a man in a folk club here in Scotland with an electric mouth organ, we had a light show form this guy's mouth, blue sparks and everything, it was great. |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Desert Dancer Date: 18 Nov 09 - 11:11 AM Available from Elderly Music, here. Noticed that in their catalog the other day, and couldn't believe my eyes. ~ Becky in Long Beach |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Desert Dancer Date: 18 Nov 09 - 11:13 AM They also sell the old-fashioned, low-tech option. |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Les in Chorlton Date: 18 Nov 09 - 11:24 AM I believe they are sold as part of a do-it-yourself vasectomy kit L in C |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: VirginiaTam Date: 18 Nov 09 - 01:48 PM I'd be very reluctant to put anything electrical in my gob. Ought to add a real good buzzzzz to the tune and curl your hair at the same time. Now that is entertainment. |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Desert Dancer Date: 18 Nov 09 - 01:51 PM The kazoo that Elderly sells with a pickup is a plastic one... |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Desert Dancer Date: 18 Nov 09 - 01:52 PM ...looks like less of an electrical hazard than this harmonica mic... |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Bat Goddess Date: 18 Nov 09 - 01:54 PM Damn. Santa just told me he WON'T bring me the kazoo with a horn as seen above (old-fashioned, low tech option). I'd really REALLY like to add that to my collection. (Curmudgeonly Santa growls, "I hate kazoos.") Sigh. Linn |
Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: Bat Goddess Date: 18 Nov 09 - 02:54 PM I just discovered an "instrument" that may very well improve the average person's perception of kazoos -- Greensleeves -- yes, listen to it Nope. Santa definitely won't bring me one of these. Linn |

Subject: RE: Electric Kazoo, anyone used one? From: GUEST,Dharma rider Date: 19 Mar 11 - 12:57 AM I bought one of these a year ago for 20 dollars shipped to my door and couldnt be happier. I bought a Roland Microcube amp 2 months ago for ($109.00)with some built in effets, plugged it in, twisted some knobs and shreded the face off my friend that has played guitar for 20 years. He just sat there slacked jawed. Do yourself a favor and get an electric kazoo. If you can sing or hum you will be amazing at it. I have had 2 offers from 2 different bands to sit in on one of there songs or to do a junk track for their CD after they heard this thing. The more effect you throw at this thing the better it sounds. I have even took the pickup mic (which is very hot and pick us sound all to easy) and made my own kazoo that sounds a little cleaner that the plastic one that it came with. If you ahve always wanted to play an instrument but just cant get the hang of it or get to frustrated, the electric kazoo is for you. So for a total of 129 dollars i jam with my freinds and they love it. This will change the way you look at a kazoo forever. If you dont want to drop money on an amp jsut get with one of your friends that plays an electric guitar and ask to plug into his amp to try it. I did this for 10 months before i could justify dropping 109 dollars on an amp. I did and have never regretted it. Rock on! The Dharma rider |

Herself said I should join in (I think she was joking!) but now I've missed it. You lucky people! RtS |
