I've just been watching the BBC TV reports of the flooding in Cumbria. A police officer has been killed when the Workington Bridge - on which he was directing traffic away - collapsed. They've just found his body on a beach not far away. Deepest sympathies to his wife and four children.

My sympathies to all the folk in Cumbria who are suffering from the flooding, and I hope that all the relevant authorities can work together to get things back to normal as soon as possible.

12" of rain fell in 24 hours. More rain expected tomorrow.... hoping for the least worst outcome!

Saw it on BBC news last night. My prayers go out to those involved.

"It was once in a thousand year event" according to Hillary Ben!
Funny how this seems to be happening more often all of a sudden!
We need to re-evaluate our views on global warming and put into effect contingency plans more quickly. Some of the people affected were unable to get insurance for this due to previous events!

My sympathies too for all those involved in this awful flooding and to the Policeman's wife and family. I'm hoping there'll be no more tragedies today!
