Subject: RE: BS: Cork city, a WET location . . . From: MartinRyan Date: 21 Nov 09 - 03:46 AM Yep, even by Irish standards, things are pretty damp at the moment. For those with an idea of the layout of the country, the best indication of how bad its been is that for the last two days, people going from Dublin to Connemara (West Galway, essentially) were advised to go via Westport! Living in Kinvara, near Galway, I set out on Thursday afternoon to go to Dublin - not realising that the only open route was , in effect, to hug the coast south to Limerick and head up from there! Every river basin on the west side of the Shannon had overflowed enough to block the roads. Regards |
