Subject: BS: Trevor's dad From: Trevor Date: 30 Nov 09 - 04:27 AM My dad died on Saturday. If you'd passed him in the street you wouldn't have known but he was one of the most remarkable men I've ever known. He was full of adventure, he never understood the words 'that can't be done' and he made people laugh. A lot. He and my mother made it so that me and my brothers and sister had the confidence to go out and do absolutely anything. If it went wrong, well, at least we'd given it a try and there was always home to come back to so that we could plan the next foray into the world. We were with him at the end and, as a result of how he was, we're ready to start this next bit of our life adventure with strength and confidence. Motor Neurone Disease is a vile way to die. It affects the sufferer and their family. If ever you find a chance of supporting sufferers or helping support research, please, please do it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trevor's dad From: John MacKenzie Date: 30 Nov 09 - 04:39 AM Trevor, your dad sounds like a great bloke, and an asset to any child. Yes MND is a cruel disease, but although it destroyed the man, it can't destroy his legacy. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Trevor's dad From: open mike Date: 07 Dec 09 - 02:38 PM {{{Trevor}}} wishing you the clarity and strength to say what needs to be said about and for Derek. I believe Motor Neuron Disease is also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also called Lou Gehrig's disease. It is named after "Lou" Gehrig, an American baseball player in the 1920s and 1930s. |
