We (The Good News-Goodtime Band) have a CD-ful of field recordings, a few songs of which wilbyhillbilly de-hissed for us. They're hymns, praise, and gospel, interspersed with a few fiddle tunes from the Fiddler's Fakebook.

There are too many people to thank to send each of you a pm, so am doing it here.

The beneficiaries of your generous and heartfelt donations of your music and good wishes have expressed to me how moved and grateful they are for the support and care that you have expressed as a community.

I am grateful for the opportunity it afforded me to connect personally, even in this small and brief way, with so many 'Catters that I otherwise never would have.

Ya'll are awesome!

I am on two CDs with the band Civil War Comrades (though only one uses that name, since we recorded it before the change in names). Look for Douglas Jimerson on I-Tunes, and the CDs are "The Civil War" and "A Lincoln Portrait." I like the latter better, since that's the one with more input from me -- I get lost in the mix in the other.

I'm working on a CD of my own music (which means music I play, not just songs I wrote), with maybe six numbers nearly finished, a couple of others needing more tracks or re-recording, and about 10 more just ideas at the moment. I'm recording it at Dennis Cook's, and have run out of money (not to mention other things, like time and such), but it'll be out sometime "soon." Geologically speaking, that is.

Bob

Hello Janie,

I currently have released 8 self produced recordings and I'm a featured artist on a dozen others. I'm in the process of working on a few more. Why stop now?

I have five available titles via CD Baby.

- Stray Dog Blues (1995) new & used blues
- 51 Highway Blues (2006) new & used blues
- Handsful O' Blues (2008) all original songs
- These Old Shoes (2008) all original songs
- War Mongerin' Man (2008) all original songs

http://www.cdbaby.com/all/reggiemiles

I have one more current project that features just musical saw playing traditional Christmas melodies.

- Seasonal Sawngs 2008

I also have two available in limited editions directly from me. reggiemiles@gmail.com

- At The Crossroads (LIVE) jug band blues with Ham Gravy
- Fresh Picked (2004) all original songs

I also have a few that never made it out of production. I began the projects but never completed them for one reason or another. These may eventually surface as obscure live shows with friends or collections of miscellaneous performances.

I put together a couple a few years back (very home-made) which a few Mudcatters and others have asked for copies (and received them) - "Marmite and Other Songs" and "Sweet Liberty".

I see that InOBU hasn't posted - he's done some great ones.

I could have sworn I'd posted this on the other thread about three years ago, but apparently I didn't, so I'll add my CD to this list.
"It Was a Dark and Stormy Night..." is a CD of my original songs, with all instuments played and recorded by me, and including the local "hit", Doormat. It's available almost everywhere on internet sites thanks to CD Baby, iTunes etc.
I'm currently working on "Legends", but there is a studio to complete before any serious creative input to that. I have made a start on Odysseus & the Sirens (Thanks George P) and "Njal's Saga", and the ideas book is filling up with thoughts about Pandora, Arthur, Roland and all things Persian. Beowulf is now up to version 3- and I'm still not sure it's quite right.
Cheers
Dave

In 2003, a friend of mine recorded me singing some of my favorites and made a CD of them which he distributed to some of our former high school classmates (from 50+ years ago). No production work was done on it, so I guess it'd be called a 'field' recording.

Want to reiterate that I am reaching out to folks with recordings of the "home-grown" and field variety too.    This is about folks!
