Let me know when they do a wild west theme. I have a saloon gal dress and fishnet stockings.

What about cotton wool to stuff inside your cheeks? And are violin cases optional?

PS - there is a Gangsters' and Molls' party in the pub on the 27th with karaoke, so the REALLY bold can PM me to book Saturday night accommodation. I recommend bringing own mic and lead, Denis's ones are not top notch.

Guy Falkes springs to mind with that 2nd posting above
He Smuggled 21 Caskets of Gun powder in to the cellars of Parliament. Clearly they had top security?
Not easily concealed in ones pockets is 21 caskets of Fizz Bang ? Has I recall Guy confessed during routine torture. A red hot poker up his fudge dispenser?

Sabatier is french for a Jewish knife that only works on Saturdays.
I think a few verses from Cosmo, The Fairly Accurate Knife Thrower is called for

Pete: old tunnels no longer extant: -
(1) from the Rose and Crown (no longer a pub but bijoux residencettes behind the old facade) to Alhallows church; and
(2) from the old big house (no longer there) at Allhallows on Sea to a number of places used for smuggling.

All a lot higher than Lower Coke. My gaff is on the 5 metre line.

Folk against fascist or fetish?

Is it a folk session, or a knife throwing competition..? I is a little confused...and now have visions of poor wenches being tied to circular tables in the bar and aimed at, whilst being spun round at 90mph..

Is Sabatier, Knife Thrower Extraordinnaire really in control of himself enough to do this?

Methinks he has partaken of the amber nectar a little tooOOOooo deeply

Is this an ancient tradition in Kent? If so, it sure as hell beats Quiz Nights.

Oh by the by I find the out building outside of The Nags Head pub adjoining the children's play area out the back where the smokers go" some what charming despite being some what dilapidated. They clearly are stables with a name plate still remaining above a stable door.
These building are indeed charming and would make great B&B accommodation? I like the gray brickwork and the slate roofing of a bygone age.

HahHAHhahHAH, Charming to the last ,Mr Bridge.
Is there a chapel or a church in Lower/Middle or Upper Stoke. I have been jawing to a man in Eltham in the Park Tavern who "claims"? there are tunnels associated with a church or chapel and a mention of a nearby Chalk mine ? Dont worry I no longer indulge in venturing into these places.

Now I would assume if there are any then the Middle Stoke area would be the most likely fore i fear that Lower stoke would be to flat and above all to wet in regards to flooding for people in the know to even consider a past chalk mining venture. Middle Stoke being higher and hilly a faint possibility. Having been banned from most mining forums I nowadays seek local advice to further my pursuits in regards to the proven locations of such places? Many go unmarked.

Ok well done Richard I had no idea you replaced my swivel knife. (At the time
I have never Heard of a Sabatier ?
I wondered what you were harping on about in the posting above. Most of my decent knifes are German,
Sabatier sounds French ?

Anyway I am looking forward to the event. I have arranged with BR and to exchange my mandolin on the same day.
He having advised me to forget a Brass nut   instead he will fashion and fit a Cow leg Bone Nut.

Hopefully it wont explode like the plastic ones did. I quote
If it can hold up a cow it should be able to cope with a Mandolin

How much had you had to drink Pete?

Your knife fell to pieces so I suppose someone binned it. Elves and safe teas. I successfully retrieved my Sabatier thank you.

And now to serious business.

The Sheps usual seasonal ales are here: -

Shep's usual beers and seasonal beers

And there are some experimental brews to be seen if you click on

SPECIAL ALES FROM THE PILOT BREWERY

and then on

CLICK HERE FOR "NEWS OF THE BREWS.

It would appear that the Burns Nght Special is a different thing from the Amber Ale, so my thoughts would be

1. Amber Ale if we can get it

2. Possibly the Double Stout or maybe the relatively low-alc (3.5) Old Faversham Dark, the description makes my mouth water (!)

3. If we can't get what we want from the above, the Early Bird will probably be ready.

I am however open to views on the brews (and in fact we usually get whatever Peter the Landlord decides on anyway).

No back sliding on my part last Sunday I enjoyed the pints of Red I had ? more Red for this session hopefully?
If I get to Camden I may pick up a lump of Wild Boar for this session. contributions are not necessary "I know a man with a dog so cost is minimal

Does anyone who attended the last session know what happened to my self modified Knockholt Carving knife I took with me to slice the bread.
I put it with the cheese and bread when I first laid it out , (Razor sharp)

Then I recall the pub provided a second knife but come the end of the session my knife was gone.
The handle of the knife in question was loose and would come off the knife.(Modified design fault)
Reguardless of that
The blade could swivels through the handle(If it didn't come off) which enabled the blade to be placed at any angle or placed at a right angle. This was very handy for the slicing of certain things that a normal carving knife would be difficult to cut with the fixed handle.

I would like to have it back if it can be found if not I will modify another one.
There is a possibility that it could have been taken back to Richard's by a unknown body at the end of the session? "who knows?
