Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: Les in Chorlton Date: 08 Feb 10 - 11:19 AM Thanks Nick. I did have a look at The Session. It's excellent for basic dots but doesn't seem to have chords - fair enough I guess. I have had a look on some other tunes sites. Some have chords - but so far not for the version of the tune that I am seeking. I guess some one out there will play this in 3/2 G and be able to help Cheers L in C |

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: Will Fly Date: 08 Feb 10 - 11:47 AM Les - if you can give me a source for the dots of the versions that you play, I'm happy to run through them and try out some appropriate chords. |

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: Les in Chorlton Date: 08 Feb 10 - 12:25 PM Versions, versions, that's part of the problem. I have the dots from The Bollin Morris Tune book. They have collected all the tunes they dance too. I have searched quite a tunes sites and found no chords. However, I see that the ABC explorer has a facility for adding chords. It does warn that they may not be totally appropriate. So thanks to all. when I nail down the correct ABC file I'll see wher that takes me. Cheers L in C |

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: G-Force Date: 08 Feb 10 - 12:32 PM My experience of programs that add chords to tunes is that they are quite dreadful, never mind not totally appropriate. Just play what sounds OK, or wait for constructive replies on here. |

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: M.Ted Date: 08 Feb 10 - 03:17 PM It may be one of those annoying things that can be accessed in one place but not another, the US but not the UK, for instance. I have listened to it a couple times, and suddenly noticed that it allows me only a certain number of plays, so I've acquired it--send me your email via pm and I'll send you a copy. For educational purposes only-- |

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Guitar Chords of Tunes From: Jack Campin Date: 08 Feb 10 - 04:09 PM Looking at the version of TRS in Offord, maybe this? (simple as you can get)
The main point is that the harmony needs to track the hemiola. Maybe Am instead of C in places. It's from the late 17th century, so 7ths are not in period. |
