Subject: BS: Goose Gander's All-Purpose Rub #123009 From: Goose Gander Date: 14 Feb 10 - 02:54 PM Goose Gander's All-Purpose Rub #123009 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup garlic salt 1/2 cup celery salt 1/2 cup paprika 2 tablespoons red pepper 2 tablespoons black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon mustard powder 1 teaspoon rubbed sage I originally put this together as a pork rub (ribs, shoulder, loin, etc), but it can be used with chicken and beef as well. I first slather the meat with mustard (just enough coat it) and then sprinkle on the rub. The mustard helps to tenderize the meat yet it cooks away so you don't really taste it all. |
