A new music session is starting at Wetwang, near Driffield in East Yorkshire. It's at the Victoria Inn at 8.00 p.m. on Tues 9th March and will proably be the second Tues in the month thereafter, though thats not decided yet.

Wetwang? That's a REAL town?!?!

A lot of Vermont towns are named after Connecticut towns which are named after English towns, but we don't have one of those.

Damn shame.

Peter.

Once well known for it's mayor Richard Whitely of Countdown fame

What sort of an evening is it going to be? Is it a music session or a sing? Is it a stand up and perform or join in together thing?

I've just been contacted by one of the organisers
It is a music and song session,
The pub is a real ale pub,
Chips will be fed to players,
The room is large,
That's all I know
Bill

Yes, Midchuck, Wetwang really exists, though I would call it a village rather than a town. It comes up if you search on Google maps.

When I was little I was told that on a Sunday morning the local fire engine would be driven into the duck pond to be washed by its crew. I kept looking, but never saw it myself. To this day I don't know whether I was fooled by a rare leg-pull from a generally very 'straight' talker, or was just unlucky. I seem to remember that the old fire station had been turned into a house last time I passed through.

Maggie helped to clear that pond out with the conservation volunteers. Ducks of all ages should be grateful.

Actually there is a second Tuesday session in Hull (in the Minerva), so a different Tuesday might be better if there are people in between who might like to go to both.

saying music session could imply that anything /anyone is welcome.
Is that the case? Any P.A?

Hi Jellybeam! I had assumed it must be you involved. It's too far for us to drive, and twins have started doing Scouts and Guides on Tuesdays, so we are tied down with dropping and collecting. Have fun and report back here how it takes off.
Quack!
Geoff.

So the next one must be 13th April?
Any chance of a review of the first one?
It's a bit of a trek from Hull but I might pull out the stops.

So, the questions were asked but not answered.
"Is it on again??"
"Is it the 13th??"

Just found a picture from 1977. Knew I had it somewhere. The young Paul Downes.
