Larry Hanks voice and, as noted above, SPLENDIDLY sparse guitar, downright virtuosic JewsHarpery, and amazing repertoire, are not to be missed. Give him a howdy for me - I've not heard him sing for a long time, especially foolish of me since he lives fifty miles north of me in Washington.

Larry Hanks and Deborah Mullins stopped by at TwickFolk to do a couple of songs on Sunday night...an excellent performance (and lovely folks too!)

For those of you across the pond who have never had an opportunity to hear Larry Hanks of tender, beauteous bass vocals (comfy and warm, like your favorite pair of slippers) sparse and tastefully guitar picking, and revered Jew's Harpery; you'll be glad to know that he is embarking on a rare UK Tour 15 June- 14 July 2010. For those of you unfamiliar with the repertoire of this much-beloved performer (who has been singing and playing his unique style of American Traditional and composed songs for over 50 years!) you will find hearing him a moving experience-- tender singing of carefully-selected songs of the American West, labor songs, songs of Utah Phillips, Larry Penn, and Malvina Reynolds, and much more...-- and all in sincerest homage to his inspiration, the late Sam Hinton.

LARRY IS GREAT!

I've known him for more than 30 years - he embodies the essence of traditional American music - Go and see him, you won't be disappointed, and will curse yourself for missing him when your friends tell you how good he was.
