And I didn't recognise her! (Be still my beating heart).

It has to be said in my defence she was (as a visitor to the area) happytapping like I am and it is all about context. At the slightest hint of singing I handed her my website flyer. Only when she wrote her own URL down did I realise the failure to recognise a national treasure in my presence. The smiling face should have given it away.

I am not worthy.

Three or four years ago, as part of the Rural Community Touring Scheme, we had Karen and Kathryn Tickell together at a local village hall, doing an evening of duets and solo pieces.

Now THAT was an evening to remember. Two lovely and hugely talented ladies playing accordion, Northumbrian pipes and fiddle in a friendly, intimate setting. Musical heaven!

She did a lovely evening with Bruce Molsky a few weeks ago in the church at Scrooby, whence the pilgrim fathers departed - no P.A. and with beautiful acoustics - excellent.

Wish I'd known about that Ray, as I live only 20 minutes or so away. Saw Bruce in 'Transatlantic Sessions Live' at the Birmingham Symphony Hall in Jan/Feb this year - great performer.

She was visiting the area because she has contacts here and doing an open air concert/picnic at Hartpury with Johnny Coppin. Gloucs UK since you ask, tonight at 7.30pm.

She was interested when I mentioned some local sessions and FC's AND Stroud Ceilidhs. I can only hope......
