Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: LadyJean Date: 02 Jul 10 - 12:19 AM In Pittsburgh, the protesters used horse manure as missiles. I hate to see good fertilizer go to waste. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,Riginslinger Date: 02 Jul 10 - 08:26 AM Maybe something pleasant grew where the manure landed. We can hope! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: gnu Date: 27 Feb 11 - 08:00 PM I am watching the Fifth Estate on CBC about what went on with the protests and the "police"... I am struck dumb... how could that SHIT happen in Canada? Unreal. Unacceptable. Harper should be held personally accountable for that crap. And, in the middle of the show they broke to a press conference of him condemming Gaddafi... Jausus H!!! It's sickening. Truly sickening. Now, there wasn't any wholesale murder, but I really don't know how that prick can sleep at night without taking responsibility for what happened and setting things right. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 28 Feb 11 - 01:16 PM Police actions in Ontario are a provincial responsibility; Harper can condemn, but cannot be personably responsible. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: gnu Date: 28 Feb 11 - 01:40 PM Good point, Q. I was just toooo upset when I posted. As always, you are the voice of reason. I was pissed at the "protesters" while it was on the go, but the Fifth Estate piece was truly shocking. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 28 Feb 11 - 01:47 PM A few broken heads might help to discourage the action of anarchists and thugs next time around. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: number 6 Date: 28 Feb 11 - 01:53 PM Would Ontario also be responsible for the out of province police (Quebec, and N.B.) who were helping with the crowd control and security? Q ... I think Muammar Gaddafi would whole heartily agree with you on that statement above. biLL |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: number 6 Date: 28 Feb 11 - 02:03 PM Read this ... a man called Nobody http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/how-a-man-named-nobody-became-the-battered-face-of-g20-protests/article1818432/ biLL |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,999 Date: 28 Feb 11 - 02:17 PM "That was really nice looking horse flesh, though, the cops were mounted on to ride down the protesters." Nothin' but the best for Canadian citizens . . . |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 28 Feb 11 - 03:46 PM Number 6- Yes, they were under the supervision of Ontario police. The vandals at the G-20 were not fighting for rights but to disrupt a peaceful meeting of world leaders, damage the premises of Toronto merchants, and interfere with the business of the general public. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: bobad Date: 28 Feb 11 - 04:37 PM Sorry Q, despite what you would like to believe the VAST majority were protesting peacefully as is their right under Canadian law. Most of those who broke the law were police officers and hopefully they will be prosecuted as an example to those who think they can impudently abuse innocent people. The call for an inquiry is among recommendations in the report — by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and National Union of Public and General Employees — which is aimed at holding governments accountable and avoiding a recurrence. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 28 Feb 11 - 06:02 PM Sorry, bobad.......... but most of those who broke the law were not police officers, but hooligans smashing windows, cars, and interfering with police work. There are plenty of videos, shown on TV, and used in making later arrests, showing these cretins. The 'peaceful' protestors interferred with business, wasted thei own time and the publics, and were kept well clear of the G-20 leaders and their meetings. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: bobad Date: 28 Feb 11 - 06:47 PM Here Q, don't listen to me, read the report in it's entirety. The widespread and violent trampling of civil rights by the police is well documented therein. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 28 Feb 11 - 07:32 PM The bastards that decided to spend a billion dollars for security in the midst of Canada's largest city are wholly to blame! This fiasco could have been held on a military base at next to no cost with sufficient security already in place. Harper's thugs are a total disgrace to anyone believing themselves to be peace officers! They acted like the bloody Gestapo! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,999 Date: 01 Mar 11 - 01:19 PM Well said, Sandy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: gnu Date: 01 Mar 11 - 01:57 PM I second that, 999! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,999 Date: 01 Mar 11 - 02:01 PM Well, after that Toronto fiasco, I am now part owner of a 1.2 million dollar man-made lake. I want you two to know that you`re welcome to come any time you want. But PLEESE, do NOT pee in the water. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 01 Mar 11 - 04:18 PM Bruce, it needs a sign like what I once seen in a campground: Welcome to our "ool! You'll notice that there is no "P" in our 'ool. Please help us keep it that way! LOL |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: gnu Date: 01 Mar 11 - 04:43 PM I wonder if the pool still exists? I rather doubt it. BTW, the pool only costed $57k, which is a "fuck me!" amount for a small puddle ankle deep. The rest of the $2+M was for the deck chairs. The bastards had the nerve to say "it was ONLY $57k"??? Sandy for PM I say! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,999 Date: 01 Mar 11 - 04:45 PM VOTE FOR SANDY. HE`LL LET YOU PEE IN THE POOL! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Stringsinger Date: 01 Mar 11 - 05:00 PM The troublemakers are often recruited by and sometimes are the undercover cops to incite disturbances and give an excuse to break the demonstration. The reason that the G20 is being targeted has to do with the policies surrounding the treatment of poor countries (abusive lending practices) and environmental policies that are destructive. Also, slave labor in foreign countries with the eradication of unions, there. Who the so-called anarchists are is unclear. Remember that this was a suggestion made in Wisconsin by the Governor who considered breaking that demonstration by introducing troublemakers but for political reasons passed on it. He thought that it would put too much sympathy on the side of the Union and against his tyrannical bill. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 01 Mar 11 - 11:17 PM I would be more than happy to put my name forward for PM! However under our constitution it requires me to lead a political party, so I am afraid that I have a problem with kissing enough arses to meet that qualification. In any case I appreciate the endorsement! |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: GUEST,999 Date: 02 Mar 11 - 02:47 PM I've never met you Sandy, but having heard some of the lyrics you write I'd have a real problem seeing you as a person more worried about his hair than the country. The Rhino Party might be the thing for you. I'm likely going to vote Bloc in the next election. The MP from the area I live in is Claude Debellefeuille. I'll vote for her because she's honest. I'm fed up with crooks in government. I dislike the Bloc's language policy which just tries to strip English speakers of their language rights, but she's honest. That's a good enough reason to support a politician these days. Sad--but true. |
Subject: RE: BS: Toronto G20 rioting begins! From: gnu Date: 02 Mar 11 - 02:59 PM A lot of the time, the Bloc are more "Canuck" than Harper. Just an observation... I ain't gettin into a discussion. |
