Hi Folks. We have settled on Saturday 9th October for the Folk Day at The Seven Stars. Who'd have thought that when we changed venues to this lovely old pub, just four weeks ago, that we'd be holding a whole day of Folk Music there, this year!

Mick the landlord already has Courage Best and Guinness on Draught.

I have asked him to put a couple of other session strength beers on.

He is happy to cater, either barbecue or chilli and rice with veg option

Might possibly do both. He would like an idea of how many to cater for.

The proposed format is an all day sing around with perhaps some performers inside the pub in the evening.
I am in negotiation with Romanyman re getting Gong Scourers to do some dancing in the garden. If they aren't available, I have a list of contacts kindly supplied by Rafflesbear.

oops bloody puter not me of course, what i was going to say , is that its very limited as far as dancing goes, dancing in the road is not a good idea, the pavement is very narrow , so what are the other options ?

There is a paved riverside area across the road (though we might not be able to take drinks out there).

Favourite is a large stage like paved area of the garden that can be cleared of seats.

IN RGARDS TO DANCING REMEMBER THERE LIDOS CAR PARK.
If you ask the Manager Sue I am sure he/She will be ok about it.

I'm sure the Landlord would prefer us to be on his premises rather than in a public area, even if we can be seen and heard tantalisingly through the gates. That would draw more people into the pub - besides the car park is also a shoppers car park and often quite full on a Saturday although parking should be OK for us as they come and go

The slightly raised area should be big enough and is to be assessed but in the meantime if any morris dancer can give us the minimum dimensions required we could check it out

Next time I'm there I'll ask the manager of Lidl where the Lido is

A troop of eight rappers made two appearances at least (that I know of), and performed a set in the main bar of the Bedford Hotel Sidmouth, in a space no more than six foot by three.

Things have changed schedule-wise since Mr Bear has plucked,however unwittingly, several more good local people from the Mudcatters.
We have our evening spots sorted, unless D T has knee problem.
