Subject: BS: The sleaze has started early From: theleveller Date: 23 Jul 10 - 04:36 AM Well, it didn't take long, did it? As many of us suspected, Cameron's Cronies with big cheque books are influencing the policies of the new Condemned Government. Even I didn't expect it to start so quickly. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/Pressure-for-inquiry-into-Forgemasters.6436067.jp |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: Leadfingers Date: 23 Jul 10 - 06:11 AM Leveller - Are you surprised ? Who is the Schools Policy going to benefit ? Sure as hell NOT the Working Class ! Is a crying shame that the Lib Dems have sold out to Cameron just for a few Cabinet seats |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: GUEST,Steamin' Willie Date: 23 Jul 10 - 06:32 AM The reneging on the Forgemasters loan has nothing to do with industry, nothing to do with keeping UK on the forefront of developing tomorrow's power and technology... It is to do with Clegg being a Sheffield MP. Cameron needed to remind him who is who's bitch. A Tory government we didn't vote for with the traditional conscience opposition party tongue tied and hamstrung. Look on the bright side, we can all start writing songs again about hating the government without the niggling fear we were criticising Kier Hardy's legacy! |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: theleveller Date: 23 Jul 10 - 06:55 AM "Leveller - Are you surprised ?" Surpised - no. Disappointed - yes, on so many levels. And as for the Scools Policy - it's just a way of letting pushy middle-class parents form their own exclusive private schools, paid for with the money that should be used to support failing schools in deprived areas. As you'd expect from a bunch of public school boys, they're simply trying to reinforce the class system. We've gone back around 50 years. Expect fagging and flogging to be reintroduced by those who believe that children should be bullied, beaten and buggered into submission. |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: greg stephens Date: 23 Jul 10 - 07:54 AM The implication in the title is that sleaze has started soon after the arrival of the new Con/Lib government. Some people have very short memories! |
|
Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: theleveller Date: 23 Jul 10 - 08:46 AM No, Greg, it doesn't imply that at all. I had a rather forlorn hope, perhaps naively and against my better judgement, that a new government might, at the very least, have learned the lessons of the past in this respect. No such luck! |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: Dave Hanson Date: 23 Jul 10 - 10:04 AM It will only get worse, Boy George Osborne is looking at ' levelling out ' the tax burden, that's Tory speak for ' the rich are paying too big a share ' and the poorer in society will end up paying more [ as usual ] Clegg had better look for a safe Tory seat for the next election, he's go no chance in Sheffield again. Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: theleveller Date: 23 Jul 10 - 11:59 AM I'm playing in Rawmarsh (just south of Sheffield) on Sunday. Might gauge the mood by shouting 'I love Nick Clegg' and see what happens :) |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: akenaton Date: 23 Jul 10 - 03:39 PM Hope Labour have the guts to get back to their rightful stance ....which is as a party of opposition to market forces. But I wont hold my breath, if Diane Abbot is the best the left can come up with for leader.....I'm afraid the left of the labour party have become a sick joke At least Mr Griffins mob believe what they preach!! |

Subject: RE: BS: The sleaze has started early From: GUEST Date: 24 Jul 10 - 11:31 AM "NEW LIEbour luddites " Interesting how the ignorant use the word 'luddite' as a term of abuse. Catch up on your history and you'll realise that they were, in fact, a group of workers fighting for their rights and livelihoods against greedy, unprincipled mill owners who were trying to wipe them out or force them to accept the starvation wages that they were offering. Ah well - they say ignorance is bliss so be happy in yours. |
