His act, complete with phony bio and accent (he is Canadian born) appears to be a satire or cynical dig at western culture.

I talked to a Nashville agent that represents many of the modern country music stars today. He had an interesting view of idol ... did you know that if you go on that show .. not if you make it as the idol but just selected to go on that show. The show owns every song you will ever write and 50% of all proceeds you will ever make as a performer ..

I think that is call whoreism in its true form ... who would want to sign their life away like that ... wow ... sheds new light on the show for me.. not that I ever considered it .. one has to know their limitations
