Subject: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: Donuel Date: 02 Oct 10 - 09:26 AM There are three gatherings on Capitol Mall coming up, Four if you cound the OCt.30 Colbert and Stewert march as seperate). Today is a NAACP jobs march, jobs march Then there is the Equality march 11th.equality march And on March 30th there is the Comedy Central March which you invited to come as you like in costume. The Colbert Keep Fear Alive people will contrast the Stewert Restire Reason - or something like that...march. I gave thought to costumes. A cylinder with a tip costume could be a Magic Marxist, a blotchy body stocking could be labled a dirty Comnudist. Characterizing characters that are full of crap in costume could be labled as Glen Beck as having IMplosive diarrhea etc. Anyway the weather is perfect today and there is a march, Please don;t miss the Halloween Comedy Central march. Of the three this one will be the biggest and most fun. PM me if you are traveling and need to save on hotel costs. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: Donuel Date: 02 Oct 10 - 10:10 AM The Korean war momument statues tucked under the trees to the left of the Lincoln Memorial is a good place to meet. A Magritte costume of a fedora, suit, breifcase and umbrella is an easy costume. Making a see through green apple face mask would be perfect. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: katlaughing Date: 02 Oct 10 - 11:51 PM I did not know about today's march...members of over 400 orgs. marched in support of the Democratic Party and President Obama. I really like what one sign said: "Fear of diversity makes a bitter cup of tea." Read more HERE. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: Mrrzy Date: 06 Oct 10 - 02:58 PM So, will we Catters have a rallying place to get together ahead of time? |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 06 Oct 10 - 04:22 PM Hope those marchers keep off the grass. I understand damage from these events is considerable. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: Desert Dancer Date: 06 Oct 10 - 06:27 PM Jon Stewart mentioned in his interview by Terry Gross that proceeds from his march will be given for maintenance of the Mall. And, I see that on the FAQ page of the Rally to Restore Sanity website they give the details: 5) Can I make a donation to support the Rally to Restore Sanity? We encourage you to make donations to the Trust for The National Mall. We feel it's important to preserve this historic site for future rallies and for future Americans to rally on! And let's face it; we're a little afraid that you might make a mess. We really, really hope you don't — we hope that, in the name of sanity and reasonableness, you won't be dicks and will actually pick up after yourselves. But just in case you accidentally, like, put a beverage down on the Mall's coffee table without using a coaster, we figure that giving a little something back to the National Mall might, at least, soften the blow. But really, mainly, it's about the "preserving the historic site" thing. Donate here. Also, all proceeds from sales of the official Rally to Restore Sanity merchandise will be donated to the Trust for the National Mall. 6) Where can I get more information on the Trust for the National Mall? Please visit the Trust of the National Mall website for more detailed information. -- So, that's one for the grass, Q. ~ Becky in Long Beach |

Subject: RE: BS: The Oct. Marches on Washington From: GUEST,Alan Whittle Date: 31 Oct 10 - 11:12 AM Well at least you've got the republicans out. If the current crop of right wingers were still in power, you would be reading this morning of how terrorists had managed to blow a plane up, because the government had refused to waste money on some item of security infrastructure that might have prevented it. And moreover the war on terror would mean you had invade another country; start another war that would leave young man and women being killed because the government won't finance the army properly. How do I know? Cos we've had our share of right wing hypocrites in office in England. |
