Subject: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: Arthur_itus Date: 03 Oct 10 - 02:02 PM Just thought I would pop the schedule on here for those that might find it helpful. Not sure if the times are Indian times or GMT. However I do beleive that New Delhi is about 5 and a half hours ahead of the UK. http://www.cwgdelhi2010.org/competition_schedule Just click on each date. |
Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 03 Oct 10 - 05:31 PM I want to watch them just as much as the impending Olympic games, or association football, or pretty well any other triumph of grunt over grammar. That is to say, I should be very glad if they ceased to pollute the airwaves. |
Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: gnu Date: 03 Oct 10 - 05:52 PM Not very sporting of you, Ricky. Besides, if you really don't give two fucks from Sunday, why bother to post at all? You'd spend time better watching the games. |

Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: Richie Black (misused acct, bad email) Date: 03 Oct 10 - 07:02 PM I always enjoy the games,I wish all teams well. These games will be interesting, it will be the only time that boxers enter as heavyweights and leave as featherweights ! Those buckets in the corners will be kept busy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: GUEST,Patsy Date: 04 Oct 10 - 08:52 AM I am just glad that everyone there can get on with what they are supposed to be doing and hopefully now have a good Commonwealth Games, please. |
Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: Arnie Date: 05 Oct 10 - 07:36 AM Predictably I see that Australia are leading the medals table. UK have a few but no gold as yet. What a fiasco at the boxing weigh-in yesterday. You really would think that someone responsible would have calibrated those scales. And why didn't they have a spare set of scales in case of problems? To simply accuse the boxers of all being overweight smacks of the unpleasant arrogance portrayed by too many officials prior to these games. |

Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: Richie Black (misused acct, bad email) Date: 07 Oct 10 - 01:34 PM The Commonwealth Games Federation has promised an immediate investigation into the water quality at the Delhi Games swimming venue following reports of swimmers falling sick. A significant number of English athletes had been hit by "Delhi belly" and a diarrhea bug. |

Subject: RE: BS: Commonwealth Games 2010 From: WalkaboutsVerse Date: 08 Oct 10 - 12:21 PM Apart from the Opening Ceremony to catch the culture, I've largely ignored it, and, frankly, hope the remnant of imperialism that is the Commonwealth soon dissolves - "apart from some local government, all any citizen of our modern world needs is their own nation and the United Nations" (from here). |

A very stupid and ignorant comment. |
