Subject: The Short Skirts From: Dillie Date: 24 Aug 99 - 02:51 PM There was a poem / monologue popular in the East Donegal area during the '20s describing the effects of the short skirts worn by young ladies of the time. It has the lines:- "I wonder now what Rab would say About the short skirts of to-day; What would he think of the short skirt movement ? Like me, he'd think it a great improvement....." Could anyone come up with the rest ? Dillie |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Short Skirts From: Hughie Date: 25 Aug 99 - 01:13 PM I kniow a man who used to recite this poem. It's very long but very funny. Some lines are a little risky but not too bad. If I can trace this I wu=ill post the words. The man's from donegal as well, a place called Sessiaghoneill I think. Hughie |
