Subject: RE: Powers Gold label Irish Whisky From: acegardener Date: 16 Nov 10 - 01:46 AM I went into a dedicated whiskey shop just recently and asked the same question. The owner of the shop said it got difficult to obtain after the Euro came in. She thinks it is another bit of meddling from the Eurocrats that have made it difficult to export from Ireland. Difficult to reason why as the well known brands still hit the shelves. I purchased a bottle of Tullamore Dew instead, which she said is on par with Gold label. Nice but not convinced. |
Subject: RE: Powers Gold label Irish Whisky From: GUEST,Patsy Date: 16 Nov 10 - 02:47 AM I steer away from whisky or whiskey these days, it has a bad effect so I avoid. |
Subject: RE: Powers Gold label Irish Whisky From: Dave Hanson Date: 16 Nov 10 - 06:21 AM If you thinks that's hard, try finding a bottle of Glenfarclas single malt. Dave H |

Subject: RE: Powers Gold label Irish Whisky From: GUEST,Patsy Date: 22 Nov 10 - 08:51 AM I got sidetracked on the Rare Whiskey link to the Pumpkin Bread Pudding recipe. It sounds absolutely delicious I suppose it could be made with an alternative spirit. |
