Are the Bounty Hounds the next Steeleye or Fairport?

Must admit to enjoying folk-rock and you do it well.

Never one to miss an opportunity for some gratuitous self promotion, if a bit of largely traditionally based folk/rock is your taste, you'll find five of our songs here: http://www.reverbnation.com/thebountyhounds

That "one handed squeezebox thing" I am playing is a shruti box. It plays a drone over which you can sing or play. You can find out more about it in this thread

Mine is this one (low G version)

Playing with my wife at a charity event recently. The sound is out of sync with the video as I sometimes find happens on Youtube which is a bit weird

Both Sides Now
but I also sometimes things like this to help out
Rockier
or
Four Strong Winds (Johnny Cash changed the tune I know and I just preferred it...)
or
Summer before the War

Dear Tootler, what is that one handed squeezebox thing you are playing? Are they hard to get hold of? John.

"When Fishes Fly" a lovely song and excellently performed by Mary Humphreys and Anahata.

I heard it sung this summer by a 14 year old girl who sang it with an assurance and maturity which belied her years. Absolutely wonderful, it brought a lump to my throat. To hear someone of her age singing a traditional folk song and singing it so well was magical.

Olddude, I take your point about the worries we have about self promotion - "vanity publishing" as it is sometimes referred to. I think it is something in the British Character. I was brought up on the view that you should not be too "forward" but let your actions speak for you. I am also the worlds worst salesman.

So, gritting my teeth, here is a link to my You Tube channel. I've already posted some of the more recent stuff earlier in the thread.

Old Dude - you are too kind. I always think Somewhere in America is the best track, although I do like the guitar solo in The Lady Came from Baltimore. And if that sounds conceited it isn't meant to be - I'm just the voice and accompanying guitar. My son Philip played the bass, mandolin, keyboards, electric guitar and 'strings.'

What is really fun is I have not heard even one of these songs before. Great music and some fine performance. you people gotta stop hiding. It is really nice to hear this and see the performances. Many people don't post because they are afraid someone is going to think they are just doing the self promotion of some other silly nonsense. They forget that many people here would love to listen. Like most of us we get caught up in our own flavor of music and forget to branch out. If we play the blues we tend to listen to mostly blues, likewise with Western or Appalachian ... I have been trying to branch out in my listening and realize how much great music I missed. Keep them coming. For some folks this is the first time I heard you play and I have been delighted at what I am hearing.
