Its only a game, but a chance for a good sing too.

England must feel confidant.

Its not the same playing on a Friday night, the atmosphere cannot be as it used to be on a Saturday afternoon, still that's progress ! so they say.

Hook at full Back plus a few absences , still the boys will have a go.

Is it on tele ?

I know! Whoopee!
Since moving house into a Grade 2 listed, I haven't had Sky (too much hassle getting planning permission and then working out how to get cables from the back to the front of the house via listed skirting boards and plaster mouldings!) Freeview doesn't quite compare. Can't have Virgin cos no fibre optic cables here.

At last I can watch some rugby! (This time last year I was in Wellington - what an atmosphere!)
I'd like England to do well, but I am half Irish...

Andrea

hi

Yes got my seat booked tonight. My wife wants to watch something else so I will get some peace and quiet .......lol

I want England to win but they have nearly as many injuries as the cricket team so it could be close ....!!

Good job it is in the Millenium Stadium. With the roof closed it will keep out the gales etc. Having played rugby for more years than was sensible (!!!) I found that nothing spoiled a good game of rugby more than the wind.

May the best team win, and may that be England.

Cheers

MikeL2

Sitting here with butterflies in my stomach as usual. Can't wait to see Mike lead them out. Hope I don't cry (much!).
Sarah gets back from berlin tonight and I've volunteered to collect her from college when she arrives so I hope Stuart manages to record the rest of the match without a hitch!
Come on England!

As a Scot I was fortunate enough to be fairly ambivalent about the result, but it was a good game but at the same time a funny game.

Without a doubt the right team won on the night, primarily as Dave MacKenzie said "Engalnd took their chances and wales threw away a lot", or to be more accrate "kicked away alot".

Welsh ball and ball handling/cycling was far quicker than the English and why, oh why kick ahead when you have unmarked men outside you???

Second half Welsh defence was at times epic, it would have been interesting to see how the game would have gone had the Welsh converted the two kicks they missed early on, but that enters the realms of - "If my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle".

hi

As I thought it was quite a close exciting game.

England survived a few early scares bit IMHO were the much better organised side for the rest of the game. They gave away positions with some silly mistakes allowing Wales to put up some points on the board.

This was by no means a vintage England performance but let's face it an away win in Wales is a great result.

I always enjoy an Englang win against Wales if only to see Jonathan Davies's face after the match. Liked a smacked arse.....lol

Nice to see Jonny Wlikinson still as nerveless as ever with his kicking.....and don't forget his crucial tackling.

Good performance but can be much better.

Cheers

England could be much better if Martin Johnson told them to re-cycle the ball a lot faster [ like Wales did ] instead of fucking about with it for ages, sometimes ending in giving a penalty away.

I suppose it could have been much worse. A 10 point game, then France look like they're running away with it, then Scotland pull back to 10 points, till the last French penalty.

Did anybody else notice that all the games went with the alphabet?

Now having watched all six teams "performing" the best match without any shadow of a doubt was France v Scotland. On their respective performances either of those sides would have beaten any of the others this week-end. Scotland on the whole played well, unfortunately they were up against a French side at its best. Two lapses in Scottish concentration resulted in 14 points going on the board.

Ireland were extremely lucky to come away with the result they got.

The evidence of the six matches played so far would,IMO, suggest that the only teams from the northern hemisphere that are likely to offer a credible opposition to the Tri Nations are France and England.

Hi

England won in a canter. Italy again proved that all they possess is a good set of forwards and a sound scrummaging technique.

England ran them rugged in the backs without ever really being brilliant.

As Dave said Italy kept going and no-one can question their enthusiasm.

The other game was one of the poorest International games that I have ever seen.

My grandson's under 8 team don't make as many silly errors as Scotland made. They looked completely lost in thought and action. They kicked what little good possession they managed to get right back to Wales.

Even when Wales only had 13 men Scotland were still outplayed and still kicked away possession; Dan Park being the main culprit.

The number a basic handling errors was almost as if they were playing with a bar of soap.

Cheers

The Scots should take heed of their own anthem, "Flower of Scotland," and send Andy Robinson "homeward tae think again;" whilst the I.R.B. should take heed of their name, INTERNATIONAL Rugby Board, and prevent coaches/managers competing for other nations.

Was in Paris for France v Scotland, and tho' we lost. came away with high hopes of doing well against Wales this last Saturday: what happened to the Scotland "team" at Murrayfield was not far short of criminal - dropped balls, falling over, mis-judged kicks and passes and far too many mistakes.
I was reminded of the Wordsworth poem, thanks to the latest design in Welsh supporters' hats - "when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils"!

I've just been watching 'Scrum V' (at least we won something this weekend - Andy Nicholls 8, Robert Jones 4 in 'Pass a Ball Through Brian Moore's Mouth') and I agree with the studion opinion that Parks was targetted by Wales, and while he didn't fall apart completely like in the old dates, was forced into positioning himself so that he had no options and made a few bad decisions.

With regard to the Hugo Southwell injury, they should probably both have been carded, as while Southwell ran into Lee Byrne, it looked like Byrne deliberately kicked him in the face.

hi

I enjoyed the Ireland v France game.

It was exciting and the result was always in doubt.

France played to involve the Irish back row around the rucks and mauls and this virtually blunted Ireland's best weapons.

I didn't think that Ireland got the best decisions from the English referee but they did not learn and suffered from giving away too many penalties.

Surprisingly Ireland looked much more dangerous in the backs and certainly looked more penetrative.

I was amused by Parra's casual one-handed put-in to the scrum that was almost put into the back row.

England have to play both teams and this will probably give more indication as to either side's chances in the forth-coming World Cup.

Cheers

Looking forward to the England/France Match, on current form I bet that the English are pleased that they have France at home.

Yes, England v france should be a great match. England will need to watch their discipline. No-one can afford to give away penalties when playing the French. The breakdown is a problem area in this respect.Should be interesting but nervewracking!Too close to call?
