Subject: RE: Packie Manus Byrne birthday alert From: GUEST,Breezy Willow Kelly Date: 21 Feb 13 - 12:38 PM I spent a lovely few hours with Packie and other friends celebrating his birthday, tunes were played and songs were sung, Packie even sang himself, what a treat that was! A few months ago while Fiona Heywood and myself were on a visit to Packie he told us that he had starred in a few films in his day, of course we all know about Black Jack but there were at least two others, the titles he remembers are, Two of a kind and Don't saddle me with that please. Is there anyone with information about these films? On that visit he also told us about other books he had written and that were published, the titles are... (1)Highways and Byways. (2)Think Again. (3)Better late than never...and (4)On the Road. It would be great to get any information about these titles and even better if copies could be located, i will keep my fingers crossed! For all of you who know and love Packie Manus be sure that he is being well looked after and he still has a twinkle in his eye! Gentle wishes to you all. Breezy. |

Subject: RE: Packie Manus Byrne Ardara visit From: GUEST,Paddy McEvoy Date: 23 Jun 13 - 05:32 PM Had the great pleasure of visiting Packie last week, Friday June 14th 2013. I was accompanied by Martin Reed from Malvern and John Young from Bolsover. Hadn't seen Packie for a few years, though we stay in touch by phone. Delighted to find him in such good spirits. Heard about the fire but such banalities were soon swept aside as we delved into more interesting and sustaining matters. To talk with Packie is to sip from the horn of plenty - an endless stream of distilled reflections and experiences. Pure joy. Saol fada chugat Packie Paddy McEvoy |
