Subject: RE: BS: Yesterday's beauty products . . . From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 24 Feb 11 - 10:30 AM No reason to feel hesitant about admitting to being a beauty therapist, Wendy. There's nothing wrong with beauty itself - it's one of life's joys. It's only when large corporations, whose financial agendas outweigh all other considerations, trade on manipulating people's fears and insecurities that it turns into something shameful. And then the shame lies at the door of big business, not beauty itself. Enhancing it and bringing out the best in someone's natural look - without pain or worry or undue cost/suffering - is rewarding and meaningful. |
Subject: RE: BS: Yesterday's beauty products . . . From: JennieG Date: 24 Feb 11 - 05:10 PM Wendy, your products sound just divine and I bet they smell gorgeous! If you could pop out to Oz for the occasional treatment can I book an appointment? As Bonnie said, it's the large corporations who trade on our insecurities to make money, and that's nasty. When did it all start, I wonder? Possibly with movies? When we saw more people other than just our own social circle - whatever that might be - we had more to compare ourselves with, for good or ill.
