Hey, you'll never guess what! I was searching for 'Daisy Daisy' this morning, for my FB page, after hearing the petrol may soon reach £8 a gallon and cars may soon become the playthings of the rich (aren't they already?)...so I thought I'd do my bit for The Planet & The Purse by getting folks to think about Bicycling, because pretty soon now we may all be taking to two wheels, or even one...with no engines, save that of our own bodies..

So, I googled...and I found...our very own WILL!

Will Fly and Daisy Daisy :0)

Now, I'm sitting over here in Torquay singing along with him..

How cool is that!   :0)

Oh! And now...I've found THIS!

I only knew the chorus, until just now...

See, the places Will Fly takes you to............. ;0)

Daisy Bell or a Bicycle Made for Two
(Written and Composed by Harry Dacre)

There is a flower within my heart
Daisy, Daisy
Planted one day by a glancing dart
Planted by Daisy Bell
Whether she loves me or loves me not
Sometimes it's hard to tell
yet I am longing to share the lot
Of beautiful Daisy Bell

cho: Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do
I'm half crazy, all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage
    I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two

We will go "tandem" as man and wife
Daisy, Daisy
"Ped'ling" away down the road of life
I and my Daisy bell
When the road's dark we can both despise
P'licemen and lamps as well
There are "bright lights" in the dazzling eyes
Of beautiful Daisy Bell

I will stick by you in "wheel" or woe
Daisy, Daisy
You'll be the bell(e) which I'll ring, you know
Sweet little Daisy Bell
You'll take the "lead" in each "trip" we take
Then if I don't do well
I will permit you to use the break
My beautiful Daisy Bell

Well - how one's indiscretions come back to haunt... Glad I got you singing, Lizzie! Now I think it's time you learned how to play it on guitar ;-) so here you go:

How to play "Daisy Bell"

PS: Filled up yesterday - still paying off the mortgage...

I'm flattered. Facebook and MySpace I don't touch, I'm afraid - not my cup of tea. :-)

Thanks, Lizzie and Will. I like to play this tune on my dulcimer.

Not many people know the verses, so it's good to see them here.
