I am working on an old Monologue that mentions the name Baby Lockhart which will help me date the Monologue, originally thought to be Victorian. It is regarding a heavyweight male person about 40 stone.
I have heard the name before. The only reference on Google refers to a Canadian Movie Star ,but that dates this monologue about 1935 much later than I think it should be.
Anyone with a good memory out there?
Thanks
Al

What are the first lines of the monologue? Any repeated theme line?
Might get something that way.

The Monologue is "The Taxi Drivers Story" and refers to a taxi cab driver picking up a gent nine feet high and weighing forty stone. At a point in the story he refers to him as "Baby Lockhart" with reference to his weight . I will post the monologue with the others already posted (My word you do look queer, "The Old Castle" and "If you pardon my saying so" )in about a week or two.(after I have learnt it).
I thought originally that this could refer to an old boxer or wrestler but I do seem to remember a rather large baby in some of the early films
or was that the Teletubbies?

I wonder if this could be it. George William Lockhart was a Victorian elephant trainer who toured his act round Britain's music halls.

According to Wikipedia (so it must be true), when some of his original elephants died, they were replaced by new ones called Vinegar ... and Baby.

There was a rather large baby in some of the early comic books and cartoons called 'Baby Huey'.

Baby Huey was a giant duck.
