Maine's official alcoholic beverage? I hate the sickly sweet poison but many Mainers love it and buy it in quarts. My only question is why. Just because it tastes good with milk or on breakfast cereals?

It makes a great Sombrero or White Russian. Not to my taste either, even though it outsells every other brew in Maine.(Except beer)

When I worked at a discount tobacco shop the first week of the month was always a busy time. Across the street from us was a Maine State Liquor Store. So many happy state check recipients came stumbling through our doors carrying gallons,and I mean GALLONS of that stuff you would scarcely believe it. They also bought enough cigarettes to choke Joe Camel.
