Wow, that is SOoo true. Well said.

I don't know about you people out there, but as I get older, I find myself liking 'heretics' more and more.

Hmmmm! Most people on the folkscene dream of filling coffee houses three nights a week.

He sounds like the run of the mill middle class macrobiotic bastard to me. If you're THAT comfortable with who you are, you're part of the problem.

No, Al...George was one of the Good Guys, trying to get folks to see through all the bullshit...

Here he is talking about Facism in the USA, back in 2005:

George - Facism

He took no prisoners with his words...

George Carlin was a biting satirist who did his best to expose the bullshit that drives the lives of so many of us. He and Bill Hicks - and before them, Lennie Bruce - are to be treasured.

I loved the Albert Goldman book about Lenny Bruce. it was my bible when I set out as a performer - there was this wonderful phrase in it, 'the bravery of the ordinary showbusiness footsoldier' - i always treasured it, and I always figured the folkscene was full of guys dodging the column. Of course they were just brighter than me, but by not playing the toilets - I think maybe, their music was somehow always a missing vital constituent.
