Subject: RE: BS: Listen to the ocean deep From: lefthanded guitar Date: 17 Mar 11 - 02:17 PM Donuel I tried to hear the listen to the deep video, but it didn't play on my (work) computer. Perhaps it's me. But I echo the sentiment. I first heard the plaintive haunting sound of the songs of the whales in Judy Collin's Farewell to Taiwathe. How little we've learned since. Perhaps these songs of the earth should be played before every council/congress meeting all over the world, to remind us that we are intimitely connected to this robust yet fragile planet and must be its safekeepers. And I am PRAYING that we will not all be singing, a la Dr. Strangelove, We'll Meet Again. If this tragic event is NOT a wakeup call to ban nuclear energy, I don't know what is. |
