Subject: BS: Love to Our Moms From: Janie Date: 08 May 11 - 12:53 AM Rushing it by about 10 minutes as I start this post, but I am not long for bed, and my own dear mother is close in my thoughts. Her powerful, centered love, example of calm discipline, and total acceptance continue to be like a warm and bright shield encircling me. Just as strong now as when she birthed me, almost 60 years ago. Happy Mothers Day. |

Subject: RE: BS: Love to Our Moms From: gnu Date: 08 May 11 - 09:54 AM 18 red roses w/ baby's breath and greenery. I made up two vases, one for the kitchen and one for the living room, along with a nice card. And I cracked two pound and a quarter lobsters for her and gave her two other bodies... just watching her eat the paste made me cringe. |

Subject: RE: BS: Love to Our Moms From: gnu Date: 08 May 11 - 04:48 PM So, I was on the phone just now with a buddy. He was cooking supper and it was just about ready. He "said" to Luke, about 7 years old, "Do you wanna go wake up yer Mum?", who was sleeping after a long shift at Tim's. "No". Hahahahhaaa. The boy is not stunned. Struck me hilarious! |

Subject: RE: BS: Love to Our Moms From: maeve Date: 08 May 11 - 05:17 PM Janie's use of "birthed" is not only poetic, it's a quite acceptable use. Regional differences; one of the variations that make language interesting. |

Subject: RE: BS: Love to Our Moms From: catspaw49 Date: 08 May 11 - 07:06 PM Ya' know........I seem to meet up with a lot of people who were hatched under a pile of cow manure..................... I'd love to have the chance to say something to my Mom..........and I do I guess as not a day passes when I don't think of her. Margie was very special but I guess most Mom's are. She was extremely talented and should have been a concert pianist. She was very intelligent and we fought over having the last word in any argument. We argued because I wasn't allowed to say anything that I could not back up and she called me on every detail. Five minutes later we'd be laughing like idiots. She was just damn great at almost everything except living a long time...................... I called her Margie because as a 4 year old I was lost in the back of the Kresge store in Dover. I stood there wailing as only a 4 year old can and calling out, MA!.....MA!" She recovered me and we went home where she sat me down and said, "You may call me Mother, Mom, or Margie, but please don't call me Ma." I thought about that for a minute and decided that EVERYONE had a Mother or a Mom but only I would have a Margie. Oh yeah.......I wish she were still around................I miss my Margie. Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: Love to Our Moms From: ranger1 Date: 08 May 11 - 07:18 PM I am blessed: I have my gramma who raised me until I was six or seven while my mom was working through some deep issues; I have Mom who, even when she was working through her deep issues, always showed me that she loved me and who has become my friend as well as my mom now that we are adults; and I have a wonderful step-mom whose day I brightened by calling her today. I also have J-boy's mom and step-mom, both of who are very dear to me. |
