Bobert talked about American Idol.

I mentioned The Voice. For those that don't know... judges cannot see the singer and must choose to turn their chair around to face the contestant within the singing time alloted. Then, if more than one judge has turned around, the contestent chooses a judge. If a single judge turns aroung, that contestant is on that judge's team. 4 contestants per each of 4 judges' "teams". Then they sing. The TV audience and the team judge chooses one to go on.

Sooooo... it's FIRST about THE VOICE. Fantastic! Just now, on one team, two gorgeous and very talented young ladies got sent home and two older, a bit overweight, bald ladies... one with tattoos and at least one >;-) ... piercing got to go on. I jumped up yelling YEAHHHH and clapping when Beverly was "saved" by the audience voters.

No matter what you think of talent shows, give The Voice a look. It really is, so far, about The Voice. I am HOOKED!

And, yes, this IS a BS thread because it's not about folk, blues or music... it's a talent show on TV.

Each and every one of them are stars if not superstars on voice only... Beverly is a definitely superstar in my books.

Beverley was UNREAL this week. She BLUES the roof off. And she played the piano darn good too! I got it one tape and I am savin it. I watched it three times in a row. Wow.

It's Bev fer me... and I detest her "look"... the tattoos and the whole thing... but maybe that is why I like the show so much. Maybe it even opened my eyes a bit more about tolerence and acceptance even tho I consider myself quite open minded. She seems like a wonderful person and she is truly talented but if she was next to me in line at the grocerey store I wouldn't (have) struck up a conversation.

That is the value of "The Voice"... Bev would have NEVER been on Idol even tho she, in my books, is far better than some Idol winners.

In any case, The Voice is a great showcase for artists that might not otherwise be promoted on accounta they ain't "purdy" or don't "fit the market target" or whatever.

To me Beverly does not look like someone who wants to talk in the checkout line. But maybe she would like that. Maybe you have a point.

I thought Nakia was overall stronger than Vickie. But I can't fault Cee Lo for rating them about equally. Then the audience voted fair and square.

I think the Judges have been great television personalities. I have found a new appreciation for Cee Lo's music, especially with Gnarls Barkley and for Christina's voice, and Adam's dry humor. Blake turned me off a bit turning down all but one country artist because they did, his and his girlfriend's songs. He hasn't really recovered from that in my eyes, but he does seem to have been good for the confidence of those two girls.

Javier seems to have the edge in the audience voting, but Vickie an Beverly both have got some votes and Dia has got votes and sold a ton of iTunes downloads.

I found it interesting that 3 of the top 8 finalists and 2 of the top 4 are openly gay. I don't know if that says something specific about the audience of this show or that US youth in general is pretty open minded. I hope it is the latter. But that said, I think that Nakia would have been better off doing a more upbeat rhythm and blues song than that Adam Lambert ode to ego and introspection. I think that Lambert made such a big deal of coming out on American Idol, that its cast a shadow over Nakia's performance and made it a little of a downer for me. I see Nakia sing I want to party. I think he should have done some some Motown or Stax or Sun Records music and kept the party going that he started in doing F*ck you But Cee Lo on the first show.

I can't generally fault Cee Lo's choices of songs and stage shows. It has been very entertaining!

It's not Beverly's look but more her personality that turns me off. Plus she reminds me a lot of my former neighbor who was a horrible person to be around. Not fair, I know. I do think she has an amazing voice, though.

Javier has The Voice and the "crowd appeal", but, after tonight, even moreso, I am still with Bev... I think she wins hands down even if she does't win the bucks. Period. Full stop.

As for her personality, I think she comes off as charming even tho she has a bit of a kickass attitude. Confidence? I really don't see what you allude to, Becca. But, hey, it's what the show is all about eh?... THE VOICE. And Bev has the best in my books no matter what she looks like or who she       or how she acts.

I think Bev had the best performance on the judged song. And she and Christina were great on "Beautiful." I think Dia will win tomorrow because of iTunes. But I hope never to hear her of Blake do another Tom Petty song.

I couldn't make out the words on the Javier song. I think it has something to do with sutures but I cannot be certain.

I got a kick out of the Cee Lo, Vickie duet. You think the costumes might have been a little much? LOL!

They will all do okay. I was surprised by the #2... seriously... the weakest voice in the whole field IMO. I wish them all well and I hope my fav (Bev) gets A CHANCE TO MOVE HER OWN SONGS FORWARD AS A RESULT OF THIS.

I really like Dia and I'm glad she made the "final two" so to speak. I thought her version of REM's "Losing My Religion" was great.
I still thing Bev had a great voice, but there is something about her that is off-putting to me and that is based more on her interviews than stage performance. Just my opinion.
I really like Frenchie and wish she had made it further in.
I can see why any of the final four were there, though, but Javier would not have been my pick to win.

Becca... I agree Bev seems kinda "wild" or "quirky" or even a bit "strange" in her interviews and the piercing and tattoos REALLY put me off but her raw talent just blows my mind.

These two were suppose to be 'competing'..but instead got into the song...and were tighter than adults who've been playing together for years! I saw this live, and it blew me away....
