Was very sorry to see that Terence Longdon recently passed away (obit The Guardian):

This brings back many happy memories of watching him play the character Gary Halliday in the 60's!

He used to pop up everywhere: Ben Hur and one of of those "Carry on" (or was it one of the Doctor series) films come to mind. Good solid actor.

Sorry, that should have been GARRY Halliday with 2 r's!

It would be interesting to know which episode referred to below, the BBC still has in it's archives:

He must have stayed primarily on the UK side of the pond. I recognize his face, probably from Sherlock Holmes.

The information is all over the place, different dates of death from one obit to another, and the link Becky put up that has something to do with the death of an Irish politician in a restroom?

SRS

"and the link Becky put up that has something to do with the death of an Irish politician in a restroom?"

Ummmm, nope. He wasn't a politician, he was the chairman of his local Conservative Association, he wasn British, not Irish, and he was found in a lavatory, not a restroom.
