Subject: BS: How do I get $ for an novel busines? From: gnu Date: 10 Jul 11 - 04:13 PM I just had one of those HOLY CRAP! THAT WOULD MAKE A LOT OF MONEY! ideas pop into my head because of something that happened to me years ago and will happen again twice in the next two years. BUT, how do I proceed if I don't have the money to start it up? It's not something I can patent like the wheel. It's an idea that others could copy quickly and, if they had the money to fast track it, they could put me out of business before I got up to speed franchising my idea... or they could even steal the idea after I pitch them. Seriously... I believe this is a BIG money maker which is timed just right in the present situation of the market I would be targeting as well as another market (actually, at least three targets now that I think of it). How do I get investors that CANNOT rip off my oh so simple but oh so fantastic idea? |

Subject: RE: BS: How do I get $ for an novel busines? From: gnu Date: 10 Jul 11 - 06:10 PM Thanks for the link, Chip... I'll have a gander later. The books and the screenplays aren't going well, G. Even the songwriting has dried up. I have been distracted. But this one is a doosie. Not something I would normally try to brainstorm about but I am glad it struck me out of the blue. |
Subject: RE: BS: How do I get $ for an novel busines? From: Ebbie Date: 10 Jul 11 - 10:04 PM Most of the 'novel' ideas I have had turned out to already be implemented. For instance I got the idea of creating and selling turbans with hair sticking out from under them in different styles, so that a person going through chemo had the option. Durned if there wasn't already a thriving business of it. |
Subject: RE: BS: How do I get $ for an novel busines? From: GUEST,Uncle Rumpo Date: 10 Jul 11 - 11:57 PM My idea was to manufacture white underpants with photo realistic grubby urine stains and skidmarks printed on the material. The target market would be self respecting clean hygenic gentlemen who would wear them to the gym so that other guys in the locker room would refrain from mocking them for not being 'real men'. Marks & Spencer declined to invest in my idea ???? Their loss.... |

I just came up with the first stupid idea to enter my head just for laugh.. guess what, google shows such pre-stained pants are already being marketed mail order ... |

For serious businesses, there are venture capitalists, but if it is really so simple, it may not be patentable and it WILL be copied immediately |
