I didn't know whether or not this was a music thread, so I put it here.

I've discovered a whole new genre of folk music: the blahs. And you too can become a noted blahsman or blahswoman; in fact, you can help define the genre.

So far it's defined a being sung in any key as long as you don't use any notes other that E, F, G, and A. No accidentals allowed, and it must be in 4/4 time throughout, tempo di fugue. Subjects include, but are not limited to: gray, mediocrity, drinking lite beer, having your woman (or man) go shopping, making enough money to pay the bills, and having the TV die in the middle of a football game, getting a ticket for parking in a no parking zone. Ideally, the music is played on a guitar you bought at Walmart.

I'm pretty sure Bobert could add immensely to this genre.

Dorian mode is a minor key in a 6 note scale
Fuck it mode is what Ted called it when he had the blahs.

Aeolian mode is also nice
Aureola mode is different for each person.

You're absolutely right! If blahs music is played using only the notes E, F, G, and A, a Walmart guitar is ideal. Those are the only notes that are even on a Walmart guitar!

Yes, and it has six strings. There's nothing like hearing a chord composed of A.

What one really needs for the blahs is an old Kent guitar or a Harmony. They used to be sold in places like Woolworth's and in cheap cruddy little music stores everywhere.
