Eric Delany, band leader and drummer.

I remember him for his version of Oranges and lemons, available on YouTube.

A fine drummer and a great showman. RIP Mr. Delaney.

hi

I remember Eric . He played with Ambrose for some time and guested with several big bands in the 50's/60's.

I saw him last many years ago when he guested with the Ted Heath Band.

He did a duet with Heath's bass player ....I think it was Johnny Hawksworth but not sure. The number was The \Big Noise from Winnetka.

He went on to form his own big band but like many other it "died" due the coming of rock & roll and The beatles here in the UK.

Sad to hear of another great musician leaving us.

Cheers

MikeL2

This is a good idea - the thread to tell us about people we might never have met or heard, so if you get a chance do more than just say their name, please post links to obit or web pages, etc. Thanks!

SRS

Eric Delaney's version of Orandes and Lemons, his hit that I remember from the summer of '56.
