Subject: RE: Whitby Folk Festival From: Jack Campin Date: 26 Sep 11 - 12:42 PM Mo and I always collect a box from the office for our sessions at The Rifle Club I hadn't thought of that, and it seems like a heck of a lot of other people at the sessions hadn't thought of it either. Maybe there could be a note in the programme or the Wailer saying that session anchors or regulars might do that? (Though the only session I was at for most of the time it ran was the Euro one, which didn't have much of a transient audience to tap into). |

Subject: RE: Whitby Folk Festival From: John MacKenzie Date: 27 Sep 11 - 06:26 AM They contribute by allowing their premises to be used, surely! |
Subject: RE: Whitby Folk Festival From: Jack's Rake Date: 27 Sep 11 - 07:17 AM Hiya John. Yeah, it dawned on me after I posted the above that the Euro session was, I think, an official programmed session and that I don't know what time it took place; all off which led to a rather crappy attempt at making my point. I was, obviously (though, sadly, only to myself!), referring more to the "fringe" sessions. Somebody mentioned, earlier, that there should be collections at these sessions and I was wondering if anyone thought it would more appropriate to ask for a donation from the pub than the participants at these. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Folk Festival From: Mo the caller Date: 27 Sep 11 - 09:56 AM Euro was semi-fringe. Not on the published programme, but advertised in the Wailer. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Folk Festival From: GUEST,Eccoscouse Date: 28 Sep 11 - 06:14 PM "who was the guy with the sax ? ... and how can we thank the nice men in white coats who let him out to play with us each afternoon?" @ Jack Campin: Absolutely uncalled for. If anybody seriously wants to know who "the man with the sax" is, I'll be happy to let them know - I don't want to waste time talking to nasty, charmless characters like you. |
