Subject: Log driving songs From: mg Date: 28 Aug 11 - 03:26 PM I just had to listen to Jack Haggerty...I think some of the best songs are log driving. Here is Jack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gIhHFjWkD0 jack For growing up in the pacific northwest of USA, I have heard precious few log-driving or even lumbering songs of this area...new or old (come to think of it, close to zero). One thing that applies to this area, whereas it might not to other areas as much (but I am just guessing) is that, like fishing here, it was not done in English..so songs could exist by the hundreds in Swedish, Finnish,...I don't know what other ethnic groups were represented in large numbers as lumberjacks here.. |
