Until today very little news about the 4 miners trapped in the Swansea area. Was hoping to hear they had them all out alive but just seen that one has been found dead.
Thinking & praying for the men & there families.

Trapped in the dark and cold, maybe part submerged in freezing water.
We must hope rescue comes soon.

More sad news and the Guardian's report includes archive material that demonstrates how safety standards in Welsh mines plummeted after privatization: here

Water in a mine is one of the most difficult things to deal with, and when it's been there a while it can become quite acidic. Some pits are known as "wet" pits, and it sounds like this may have been one, if it was so close to water. There are rules about the proximity of working to water-bearing strata...must have been some unaccounted for water source, maybe..

My thoughts are with the 4 families. I hope the press give them some space.

Andrea

The last miner has been found dead.
My heart is with the families right now, having been there too.

One out alive I think. Must add "Springhill Mine" and/or "Coalhouse door" to the set list. If I were American there are fine American songs about private mine safety standards.
