Terrible news. The father of a friens of my son was killed there a few years ago.

Odd, I keep saying how it was a job like any other, blah blah and how when I was a rep on the road all day, I was statistically at more risk than when I worked down the pit.

Yet during my time, four men were killed and many more injured to the extent of never working again in separate accidents, and my son had to help free a workmate who died a few hours later. I have a permanent bad back from an injury, my Dad was gassed and my son had to give up rugby after his "Blighty wound."

Yet at the time, it was just your job.   I felt for the families of the Welsh tragedy the other week, as flooding from old workings was always in your mind and not a nice way to go. Having this on the back of the last tragedy makes you think. Especially as there is less than 1% of the workforce from when I started.....
