Ok yeah this one had me weeping like a baby. I saw it on facebook and had to share it here. Perhaps someone already has.

I do have mixed feelings about animal testing. Having lost a child the sacrifice of animals if it could have saved her life seems worth it.

Yet this video moved me. Why can't research animals be kept in happier more humane conditions? Given names, played with, cuddled, and permitted outdoor time?

Are you asking why don't people allow their pets to be used in testing?

Reports several days ago said that caretakers have been found and approvals gained to permit them to be saved, although there probably is still a need for support for moving, quarantine, and other care.

Of course they'll eventually need to find individual homes for them all, too.

Question... JUST a question... ONLY, ONLY a QUESTION...

How much does it cost to adopt one of these dogs? I would like to get one. HOW much will it cost me? I can't seem to find out but I am not sure I I researchedit properly. I can be kinda inept at this stuff.

If it is known that a chemical will harm a human (e.g., oven cleaner) why bother to test it on animals? On the other hand, testing of medicines and surgical procedures are necessary -- but whatever animals are used should be treated with respect.

I draw a line in the sand about the Michael Vick dogs, as I know too much about the case.

Why go international? I am sure that there are plenty of New Brunswick dogs just as worthy of adoption.

I had a beagle. Lost him when I was nine. This tugs at my heartstrings.

As long as you understand what you're taking on. Beagles howl. Snoopy wasn't a joke. They really howl. They're also incredibly cool. My neighbors' beagle bitch used to escape and just come visit. She'd show up on the back porch, and of course be let in. "Don't worry, Cleo's over here. Just came to visit. We'll bring her back when she's ready."

If they went out and she was crying, we'd just go over and get her. "Don't worry, Cleo's with us. She was upset."

A beagle is a pack-dog, and you're gonna be its pack.

I can't watch the video; it would hurt my heart too much. Somewhere,in some thread, I know I've recounted the tale of how I saved my brother's cat after it had been caught in a cage by a nasty neighbour who, I found out later, had a habit of doing so, then selling trapped cats to pharmaceutical laboratories.

When I lived in Connecticut, as a salesperson I was supposed to call on someone at Pfizer pharmaceuticals one day. When I arrived there was a fine dust in the air, smelled awful, and I couldn't get it out of my mind that I knew they had beagles in one of those huge buildings and they were being used for testing. I turned the car around and went home and never went back.

I hope they find good homes for all of the beagles mentioned.

gnu, if you CLICK HERE there is more information on adoption, including applications to e-mail and, what I read was a cost of $300. Of course I don't know if that means just in the United States or elsewhere. There is an e-mail address there for someone that you could write to.

"We require that all of our beagles be placed into a home with at least one other dog." Seems the little guys need a buddy to show them the ropes.
