Subject: BS: Use of 'crotch flys' in PJs & briefs From: Ed T Date: 23 Dec 11 - 11:51 AM ""There are several different fly designs in common use, including but not limited to the standard vertical fly, the horizontal fly, and the y-front fly. The use of a fly is optional, and many styles do not utilize a fly at all."" from Wiki, on mens briefs. I have been noticing the move to no fly's in mens briefs. It beats me as to the reason? Without an opening, there is often s struggle to flip it over, or flip it under. It seems that the undie-industry figured out the perfect openings for everyone, a big advance from buttoned long-john openings of tyears ago. So, why the no fly? No fly is just annoying to me, and in addition, I feel it goes against common undie sense. |

Subject: RE: BS: Use of 'crotch flys' in PJs & briefs From: katlaughing Date: 23 Dec 11 - 12:56 PM Maybe it is partly because women purchase them for themselves because they might be more comfortable than what is promoted for women? I've been thinking about trying some boxers. It's a lot easier to find men's wear made of 100% cotton than it is for women's wear. Otherwise, I'd say, just drop trou and sit down like the rest of us and you won't need to worry about a fly or buttons! |

If you have to pull your pants down to pee, what difference does it make if you have to pull your underwear down too? |
Subject: RE: BS: Use of 'crotch flys' in PJs & briefs From: Bill D Date: 23 Dec 11 - 03:34 PM I finally had to buy Munsingwear briefs off the WWW last week. They are the only ones who seem to make the horizontal fly without assuming most men are now overweight and need a larger leg opening. Used to get 'em at Sears. Briefs without flys are usually just for 'effect' I had a pair of black ones 45 years ago when I did 2 sessions as a model in a life-drawing class. I suppose the skimpier no-fly type would be used just as my Munsingwear are now....hook thumb and pull down.... but I am past the need for 'effect'. |

Subject: RE: BS: Use of 'crotch flys' in PJs & briefs From: Ed T Date: 24 Dec 11 - 08:43 AM While mens pants are based on actual waist and leg length. However, womens are not. It seems that womens sizes have changed throughout the years, to flatter them.Or, at least according to this statement> ""Additionally, what may have been a size 6 in the past is now more likely marked as a size 4 or a size 2. As women's body types have changed, manufacturers have adjusted their sizes to flatter a woman's self esteem — basing their sizing on the belief that most women would prefer to wear a piece of clothing marked with a "Small" label than with a "Large."" http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-difference-between-mens-and-womens-jeans.htm |
