If you are near Little Rock, DesArc, Stuttgart or Sheridan, please take warnings seriously. Winds are reaching 130-160 MPH. The tornadoes are very large.

That warning was issued by Brad Panovich on Facebook about 10 minutes ago. He knows what he's talking about, so please take it seriously.

The NOAA (government)website doesn't seem to have listed gusts that high, nor anything about a tornado for Little Rock, at least.

Odd, since the WEATHER CHANNEL does include a warning with tracking info.

Regardless, may all stay safe.

Here's a useful link: http://wxbrad.com/?paged=10

News reports say about 21 tornados so far. This is real. Lots of damage around Birmingham, Alabama.

Good timing, 999.

The report I read last night had only to do with Arkansas. I didn't realize it was a multi-State storm warning. Thanks, Kat and Maeve. Perhaps a mod would change the thread title if this thing is on-going, although I expect most people are aware of it by now.

I was concerned that any people on Mudcat last night might not have rec'd the warning. In instances like this I'd rather the info be wrong and me thought a fool than the info be correct and me be a fool for not saying anything.

It was a good call, treblenine. I hadn't realized the extent of the endangered area at first, either; thus my several posts in place of one post with several links.

An unusually "close-up" view in video

The short sequence, a few seconds long, repeats a couple of times in the news clip. Probably a short lead-in commercial.

They don't say how it was recorded, but do refer to a surveillance camera. It's #@$@%@ sure I wouldn't have stayed to hold it steady.

John
