There is a current ad for something or another that queries: When was the last time you did something for the first time?

I like that- and then ageing popped into my mind and asked: When was the first time you did something for the last time?

I used to be a bean counter....for almost a year I was cycle inventory clerk at Stokley-Van Camp's bean cannery.

I'm sure there were many of those, but the relevant one is that the last time I stood on my head was on my 55th birthday.(You are old, Father William) I used to be able to flip my legs into lotus posture while standing on my head...but neck problems developed and the doctor said, "be careful what you do."

Able to go to work, get home, wash my hair and dry it in an hour, apply the make-up get ready and be out in the evening by 7.30 and still have energy for an early start the next morning. Now after work I just want to collapse and reach for the Horlicks.
