Oh my. Thanks, 9. I still say it is a great "demo". As for "good cause", well, that is certainly subjective after reading yor link.

9... well, many get drawn into "great causes". I usually investigate such emails and should have before I posted this BUT... I still say it is a great demo of what the internut can acomplish when used in such manner and, for that alone, I feel this is a good thread. It at least bears witness to the power of communication through You Tube and the like... when used properly.

I watched the video and was totally caught into it. Then I went to check how much they want as a contribution. Several times during the video they mention that for only a couple of dollars and so on. But then I looked and seen that to get the action kit it cost $15.00 a month. That's more than a couple of bucks. Oh! and the minimum you can register at is $10.00 a month.
Now I read what 999 has posted and wonder again. I think I will do a lot more reading.

Yup. Another scam. It's SOOOOO sad. But there are lots of them. I coud cite a recent thread but that would just REopen another can of worms.

At least it shows how powerful the internet can be to connect people around the world AND get some kind of action taken. It gives one hope for the current younger generations, imo.

I don't think it is a scam Gnu. Because the person is real and the goal to capture him or eliminate him is also true. But I have some reservations on their money request.

The "money request" is my clue. The rest of it all, fine. But the simple fact that they state a few dollars PER month (which strikes me as odd to begin with) and then require a larger minimum and... well, whatever. If it was about what the vid is saying it is about, fine. Job well done. Beyond that, asking for money and THEN MORE money... ?... well... no.

Kony is a violent dangerous threat to the people of Africa and support for the end of his influence is important. One might investigate an effective means of support. The "cause" is a just one. One might question the "messenger".

Exactly my point, Arkie. Good cause and it's been well done. Now, the only thing I can see re the $ aspect is... will the $ be used to further the cause or other causes? Perhaps "scam" is too harsh and presumtuous on my part.
