BS: Facebook site down?

I've seen more than one discussion on the Facebook "Mudcat Cafe" page about this site being temporarily out of service. Well, today what's good for the goose is good for the gander ~ a couple of hours ago, I tried to peek into FB and got a "site not found" message.

Facebook is largely to blame for my declining participation in this forum, I have to admit. Let it be known, however, that I have been losing interest in, and patience with, Facebook in recent weeks/months. Maybe I'll be back here more frequently in the near future...

Poppagator, what was it about Facebook that caused you to lose interest and patience? I ask because my two nieces are really into it, so I wondered if it's principally for young people.

Facebook is for people of any age ~ *IF* they have sufficient numbers of "friends" also on Facebook. Which I do; many of them even as old as I am, plus plenty of younger folks (my kids' peers).

My problem(s) have to do with FB's constant fiddling and reprogramming and redesign. Sorta like how much I hate the Win7 operating system on my new laptop. Can't these people leave well enough alone?

In any event ~ here in the US, or at least here in my little world, this is Day Two of no access to FB. Not at the office (don't tell!) and not at home either.

Mine was down yesterday. Son came over with his lap top connected and his came in with no problem. Very weird. I'm with you Poppa, I just get to understand what the heck they are doing then they make changes.

I don't FB, but "she of the home" has been on it quite a bit recently. She did have some difficulty getting on today, but her problem seems to have been due to their "pushing" their latest revised tweaked muddled "format" onto her page. There apparently is no choice about whether you get the latest wonderful-change-of-the-week, but the biggest one I've heard about has been "forced" in waves, and if they happen to be pushing the change for a herd that you wander with it might cause delays - or even temporary inability to get in.
