Two Maine-based performers, Dave Peloquin (left, above) and Bob Webb continue their successful "Sounds Like Old Times" presentations of "roots" country and western music with a tribute to Woody on the occasion of his centennial year. They are returning to center-stage Woody's beloved people's-songs, like "Hard Travellin'," "So Long, It's Been Good to Know Yuh," and "Pastures of Plenty."Along the way, they're exploring American culture of the 1930s and '40s, when the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and World War II drove many Americans from their homes in search of better lives. ($15 adv/$18 door, 8PM)

Oops! One of our good friends noted that we announced our party for Woody Guthrie on Saturday, June 22. This obviously can't be correct, because Saturday is the 23rd.

Our Woody party at One Longfellow Square will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, June 22. We're sorry for any confusion caused by our previous invitation -- we hope to see you there!
