Subject: BS: GNU's email buddies... From: gnu Date: 22 Jul 12 - 08:26 AM A number of my email buddies have changed email addreesses over the past half dozen years. I made the changes and deleted the old email addresses... kinda. My ISP also provides an email program that works far better than M$'s. Except that about a week ago it decided that I needed all of the deleted email addresses reinstated. Now, I have two and, in some cases, three email addresses for some of my buddies and I have some one-time contacts (product enquiries and the like) that show as frequently contacted and at the top of some listings. I am easily confused and determining which email addresses are the right ones to use is tedious, to say the least. Sooooo, I would appreciate it if those of you with two or more addresses (if you have contacted me using more than one address) or changed addresses send me an email with the correct address. I'll make a new folder and put these emails in it for reference and also attempt to purge any defunct addresses AGAIN... grrrrr! Thanks for your help. |

From: Stilly River Sage Date: 22 Jul 12 - 07:32 PM Why don't you look at your recently received mail in alphabetical order by using a "sent by" column to order it, or look at your sent mail in the same way, and select the most recently used addresses to keep in that folder? Each person who appears in your email will be newest mail first. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: GNU's email buddies... From: gnu Date: 22 Jul 12 - 09:07 PM SRS... yup. What about an email that has been deleted? What about a "recent" email forwarded from an address they seldom use or use only for specific purposes? Some are easy, others not so easy. Add to that the fact that I have a large number of contacts and asking for help from my relatively small group of Mudcat buddies with this ONE thread just seemed to be a good idea. |

Subject: RE: BS: GNU's email buddies... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 23 Jul 12 - 01:10 AM Deleting email - what a concept. :) It piles up and I eventually take out batches at a time after searching on various sites sending me stuff I rarely get around to reading. Plus, I download into Thunderbird on the computer but have the program leave it in the original gmail location. I go into the web site and take out things every so often that I don't want hanging around out there. SRS |
