I was priveledged to see Nick jones perform at Warwick and I have to say he deserved his standing ovation before and after his set.what a fantastic performance. i must also give credit to his son and Belinda OHooley who were excellent performers and provided sensitive support. Lets hope there is more to come

Can we ask an elf to correct the title? Assuming it was Nic Jones?

Yes!! Nic Jones at Warwick was really smashing. Coming from abroad it was the first time I could him on stage.

It was a very emotional experience. Not so much for the songs, although 'Little Pot Stove' nearly blew the roof off the tent, but more for the example of what is possible with lots of love and friendship. The electrical atmosphere was created largely by Nic's voice accompanied by Nic's idiosyncratic guitar playing…only it was son, Joe, who was the guitarist and dad, NIc who supplied the voice. Joe Jones should get the recognition he deserves for superlative understanding of the guitar style of his father…after all it takes a bit more than mere genes!
The whole thing was moved along by the gentle humour and occasional accompaniment of Belinda Hooley, whose support meantt hat the Jones boys were not totally exposed on a main concert stage. There were a lot of tears shed in that tent but it was all joy and an uplifting example of what the human spirit can achieve. Personally, I think the Olympics will have to go a long way to top this in those terms!

Well what do you know?! I've still got the set-list.

Seven Yellow Gypsies
Master Kilby
Ruins by the shore
Barrack Street
Texas Girls lament
Rue the day
Thanksgiving
Fake plastic trees
Yarmouth Town
I only spoke Portuguese
Now
Little Pot Stove

I expect it will be the same at the other venues.

A magical experience, and all recorded for the Proudfoot TV crew. Michael (Proudfoot) told me that they will be definitely be using some of the footage in the forthcoming TV documentary, due to be broadcast 'sometime in the Autumn' on BBC Four. It's going to be more of a human interest doc rather than a concert, including lots of interviews and footage of rehearsals etc.
