Ebbie, KT and Alaska Mike are there and they're certainly treasures worth hanging onto, so while I have no say in it, I'd say no. Unless Canada buys it, in which case they can be dual citizens. Of course, we'd have to borrow the money from the USA.

Of concern to me, however, would be Sarah Palin's place in the deal. We have more than sufficient stupidity in our government already, thank you very much.

Canada already has large, sparsely populated and unused northern lands and natural resources. What value would purchasing more northern land bring to Canada?

If Canada were to aquire additional territory, I suggust (and I believe many Canadians would agree) it be South of the most of the USA, not to the north.

Canada has abundance of the whatever northern stuff Alaska has already.

Canada missed the boat a few years ago by not letting Turks and Caicos join Canada (or a related relationship that was sought by these southern Islands).

All you'd have to do is start out by buying some third-world dump like Equatorial Guinea for a trillion or so, make a few improvements, and resell it for two trillion. Then do the same thing again with someplace like Lichtenstein. Buy it for two and sell it for four. Heck, ya'll would have the ten trillion to buy Alaska after just three or four deals.

Ten trillion may be a high price but it should be paid to the good citizens of Alaska, not the US treasury. When Canada takes it over or re-claims what was theirs in the first place before Russia stole it the citizens will be filthy rich and we can get the money back through taxation.
