On accounta ya can't pick a lock with mittens on, ya can't run or drive fast on snow packed into a sheet of ice, and ya sure as H E double hockey sticks can't run with snow shoes on if ya take to the "off-road" - if ya do, it don't take a police dog ta track ya. Even if ya had a gun in case of a shootout with the RCMP, you could only hold out fer about a minute and a half with yer mittens off IF you could see thru the drifting snow to aim.

I'M COLD and I am already tired of shovelling snow! And it's only January TWO fer **** sake!

Idaho Falls police picked up two 18-20 year olds for burglary -- caught 'em by following their tracks in the snow with the loot still in their hands.

Gonna supposed to be -20F (-28.89C) at the airport here tonight. Gonna be a new record for this date.

Angie's has (? had) GREAT grub cheap. The lads I worked with years ago used to go there for lunch every Friday. No strippers at noon. Just good eats. I avoid strip clubs but I LIKE to eat. Of course, there is a lewd comment available but anyone who knows that already made the connection.

This Bacchus chief is new on the job ... the previous head of Bacchus was sent away for manslaughter ... he shot a guy late one afternoon last August ... did the job right out in the street, outside their clubhouse ... fired off 2 clips from his Glock ... 16 shots, 10 hit the guy ... the last was a coup de grace to the head. he got 10 years for that.

I use to have a daydream that I WAS in charge. Call Gagetown and order in some choppers to land at the clubhouse in Albert County and give the bastards ten minutes to fuck off while the sappers were setting the charges... BOOM!... no more clubhouse.

A buddy of mine had his bike stolen. A week later, someone was IDd by his buddy at Honda buying an ignition. He mounted a posse... armed. They found out (SOMEbody snitched) and he got a telephone call... "How is your sister, Dawn? Does she still have arms"? Dawn was 12 at the time. The posse was disbanded. So, that's why I have such a violent fantasy re these thugs.

A friend of mine (in enforcement in Montreal) told me ahile ago that each time they had success breaking down the organized biker gangs, that the crime was mostly replaced by other "less organized" gangs, many with less fear of engaging in crime initiatives that impact ordinary citizens.

Ed et all a youse... I find it absolutely disgusting that this shit is allowed at all. We need some laws to protect young girls and get rid of these establisments altogether. And, as for the organized crime dealing in drugs, well, that may never be solved but the strip clubs would be a start.

And before I get chatised again for looking at pics of maked women on the net (just happened in another thread), NO, that ain't the same deal... those ladies get paid well and they are safe and they don't engage in unregulated prostitution.

In the east (Canada), it seems that Quebec, and Ontario have the greatest number of stip bars.

Some strippers in Quebec (where sex and nudity is viewed differently, excuse the pun) are unionzed - I am not sure how effective that is in keeping it more legit and the girls safer? I believe some strippers (not sure how many) see it as a legitimate business and do stay away from crime and crime gangs.

Nova Scotia has only one strip bar remaining with others closed throughout the years. It seems tame, (compared to the others, including NB) and does not seem to be now controlled by the criminal gang element.There is a zero liklihood that any others will get an OK to open, as the regs. stand now. There are none in PEI and I believe only a few in Newfoundland.

A problem with some (New Brunswick included) is not the nudity (IMO, that is a personal morality issue) but, as you state, the girls are most often introduced into the business and controlled by the criminals (not just bikers) and are later tricked-lured into drugs and prostitution (many of the handlers, and those girls, are Halifax based and these handlers are business-linked to the bigger crime gangs in Moncton and Ontario).

I agree, that in general crime gangs, drugs, prostitution and most strip bars mostly have close crime links. I am not sure why it is so, or if it has to be so - but that is the way it is in many locals.

As to who looks at nude pictures or live nudes (or participate in whatever consentual sex they prefer), I could not care less. I do not personally think less of these folks - whether they prefer to view it on the internet, in book stores or at strip bars, or in the Sears catalogue.

Ed... the girls that strip are essentially employed by the Hell's Angels. The Hell's Angels employ the other bike gangs which are subsidiaries of the Angel's. If you ever see a girl with a rose tattoo on her thigh, she is "owned" by the Angels.

An aquaintance of mine, my buddy's old boss, told me that the clubs in Moncton have "private dances" in a back room where "things happen" but no touching by the patron. Such can be arranged and such happens in a limo... $100/h for the limo, $? for the "escort". I asked if he ever used the limo. He replied that he did "NOT pay for sex." I felt like saying that he kinda already did but only got screwed... out of his coin.

And the bastards launder money in the video gambling machines. Recall the RCMP smashed a lot of these machines in the Maritimes? I saw what was being done first hand when I used to walk to a local pub with my neighbour to have some CHEAP ales and shoot pool for FREE. Didn't take me long to figure it out. These machines were paying out a LOT of coin. When I saw the bus that was bringing in eldery people from up country to play the machines all day... well, you do the math.

gnu, If you were to go into some of your Moncton spots, you can identify the owners by where the girls are from (Halifax area or Quebec).

What I was refering to is the link between the Halifax girls that work biker connected strip spots in Moncton (a training ground) for later deployment to other areas and prostitution (Toronto Niagra falls etc). There is a group in Hfx area (not bikers themselves, but work for 'em) who do the recruiting and breaking for the harder trade. MacLeans Mag did a story a few years back about the somewhat unique (but dastardly effective) techniques used by the Hfx-Dartmouth connection, mostly involving people from a specific area of that city.

Only time I ever went to a club in Moncton was for a stag and on Fridays when I worked in a soils lab on accounta the guys went there for the steak special... one of them had a daughter that was a waitress their and we got free draft beer.

I went to Super Sexe in Montreal when I was young, stupid and drunk. The hockey game was better. And, I had a boss who HAD to hit the clubs in St. John's, Gander, and Halifax... otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered. Knowing what I now know, I would never have attended except for a buddy's stag (polite, eh?).

I think they should all be shut down. If they were ONLY strip clubs, what the hell do I have to say about it? But, that is NOT all they are... as you have "alluded" to, Ed.

Quebec may be a bit different in some cases, as they have neighbourhood strip bars in small communities that appear to be locally owned? - I am uncertain about that situation).   

But,there certainly is a sad state of affairs in the underbelly of many of them. They know hot to spot and lure the girls into the trade,without them knowing wg\hat is in store for them for the rest of their lives.

Safe... well... I have known for YEARS that court cases are decided on Friday afternoons at the Press Club and that $ change hands on ALL sorts of cases. And that bodies found face down in a ditch are not reported if the journalists happen to be at Tim's when the ambulance arrives at the hop. IMO, relatively safer for some, and a real hell for others.

Unfortunately, the bad guys doing the bad stuff, the few who are charged by the police and found guilty by the courts, pay a very small price, and are free to do the same thing to other folks (or, have others do it for them) after a short period of time.
