Hi Folks
I feel I need to clarify for those of you who know "Three Sheets to the Wind" as being made up of Keith Kendrick, Geoff Higginbottom and Derek Gifford. The group appearing at Bamfest is a different group who perform Punk-folk, not maritime material.
Cheers
Sylvia

Sorry Sylvia ..... we'll have to give the "other" 3 Sheets To The Wind a gig in the future to make up for it :-)

Especially if you'll do a collaboration ...... 6 sheets To The wind maybe?

What a shame it clashes with:

Yorkshire Air Ambulance Folk Weekend

Yes it is a shame ...... some of the Bamfest committee members ran a fundraiser for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance last year. So it is a cause close to our hearts.

What can you do ...... we've had a web presence since September last year, that isn't hard to find. I don't know when the Air Ambulance fundraiser was set up?

It's OK. We'll go ahead anyway. Our catchment is probably more YAA supporters and Great Heck Brewery fans than folkies, and Steve Tilston will pull in a crowd anywhere.

It's a shame for me because I would have liked to have come to your fest. I wasn't aware of the dates until it was mentioned here, and I had checked all the lists that I could find.

Then there are the other events that have appeared recently on that weekend; the autoharp festival at Gargrave, the Doncaster folk fest and Swaledale festival. Damn! There just aren't enuff weekends in June!

Looking forward to coming along. Thanks to all involved with the organisation and to anyone else who works similarly on other events and festivals. Without you all, working your festival wellies off... it would be a miserable and quiet world! :-)

It's a nightmare Tone. Couldn't find any reference to The Doncaster festival (actually your post is the first I've heard of it).

We've been in dialogue with the Swaledale festival and decided(with them) that our event is complimentary to theirs rather than clashing in any way. They have no "folky" events that weekend and are doing nothing in Bedale this year (Swaledale fest runs for several weeks throughout Swaledale and covers all arts).

I guess people can pay their money and take their choice!

Why not come up on Friday night or Sunday?

I would but I'm running singarounds on both days. If I've got any singers that is!

Just one more week for you to take advantage of the Early Bird prices. Prices go up on April 1st.

So don't be an April fool, book now - it's not often you get offered a bargain in Yorkshire!
